Eklund, the Senators’ prized offseason acquisition has two points in three games to start his run in Ottawa.

Ottawa Senators winger William Eklund exited Thursday night's home opener against the Philadelphia Flyers during the first period due to a lower-body injury. The injury occurred just under eight minutes into the game following a check along the boards by Flyers defenseman Simon Benoit.
Eklund was a major offseason addition for Ottawa, acquired from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for the No. 9 overall draft pick. Prior to the injury, the Swedish forward had recorded two points in three games while skating on the Senators' top line alongside Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson.
