St. Louis Blues winger Alexey Toropchenko sustained an upper-body injury during Friday's season opener against Dallas and will miss extended time. Head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed the timeline will be longer than day-to-day. Toropchenko left the ice during the second period after receiving hits from Lian Bichsel and Tyler Seguin, appearing to favor his right shoulder or forearm.
Toropchenko, who signed a two-year extension through 2027-28, provides key physical depth for the Blues. His injury is expected to open a roster spot for Dillon Dube to make his NHL return.
