Julian Gaudio of The Hockey News writes that Cam Fowler has performed impressively for the St. Louis Blues through five games of the 2026-27 season despite recording zero points. The 34-year-old defenseman leads the team in average ice time and has generated strong underlying 5-on-5 analytics, including a 62.11 expected goals-for percentage.
Fowler and defensive partner Brandon Carlo hold the team's highest expected goals percentage at 69.2 percent, while the Blues have not allowed a shorthanded goal with Fowler on the ice. Gaudio attributes Fowler's lack of offensive production to poor shooting luck that should eventually balance out.
