The Dallas Stars are signing veteran forward David Perron to a one-year, pro-rated $850,000 contract to strengthen their offensive depth. The 38-year-old winger enters his 20th NHL season, joining his eighth franchise after previously recording 332 goals and 812 points across 1,239 regular-season games.
Perron's arrival comes as Dallas deals with multiple forward injuries, including Matt Duchene being sidelined for three months following core surgery. The Stars have struggled offensively to start the season, averaging 2.14 goals per contest through their opening seven games.
