The Dylan Larkin saga in Detroit is generating a lot of buzz throughout the NHL, and especially in Montreal. The 30-year-old forward would be the perfect fit as Montreal's second-line center, complementing Ivan Demidov's play.
Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin is facing outside criticism for reportedly excluding the Montreal Canadiens from his approved trade destinations. Toronto Sun columnist Steve Simmons labeled Larkin's decision to veto a potential trade to Montreal as nonsense, arguing that competing in a premier hockey market should appeal to any player aiming to win.
Larkin holds a no-trade clause on an eight-year deal carrying an average annual value of $8.7 million. While he submitted a trade list featuring American contenders, reports indicate those preferred teams lack salary cap space and trade assets, whereas Montreal could reportedly satisfy Detroit's asking price.
