Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois has responded to Nikita Kucherov's trade request.
Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois has announced that the franchise has no intention of trading star forward Nikita Kucherov. The official statement follows reports that Kucherov submitted a formal trade request to the organization, which BriseBois unequivocally shut down.
The Lightning have emerged as one of the Eastern Conference's top teams early in the season, with Kucherov serving as a central contributor. Michael DeRosa notes that with Tampa Bay aiming for a deep playoff run this spring, the front office is inclined to retain Kucherov rather than deal him away.
