Winnipeg Jets coach Scott Arniel is safe for now, and it's hard to imagine the Tampa Bay Lightning allowing Nikita Kucherov to walk for nothing.
Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois is resisting trade calls for star forward Nikita Kucherov, according to reports from TSN's Darren Dreger and Pierre LeBrun. BriseBois met with Kucherov in Nashville and directly stated that the organization has no intention of trading him, while Kucherov currently has no list of preferred destinations.
Elsewhere around the league, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel remains safe despite the team enduring a nine-game winless slump. Dreger reported that despite media speculation and calls from fans for a coaching change, Winnipeg's front office and ownership are not currently considering a dismissal.
