Simon Edvinsson Is Reportedly ‘Mad’ at the Red Wings, Wanted Space

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson is reportedly frustrated with prolonged contract negotiations and has returned to Sweden. According to Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Edvinsson believed a deal would be finalized and wanted space after talks dragged on. While the Red Wings still believe an agreement can be reached, the club has also begun checking the trade market on the young blueliner.

Friedman reports Detroit initially favored a bridge deal but is now open to a longer-term contract. He also speculated that trading Edvinsson could potentially alter Detroit's approach regarding forward Dylan Larkin, offering the organization an opportunity to significantly retool its roster.
