The Toronto Maple Leafs could be staring at another tough injury concern, after Jake McCabe left Tuesday night's game in the first period.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe sustained an apparent injury during Tuesday night's 6-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. McCabe exited the contest after being struck under his visor by the high stick follow-through of Columbus forward Kent Johnson, logging just 4:15 of ice time. The team did not immediately provide an official update regarding the severity of his condition or potential eye damage.
The setback adds to Toronto's growing list of injured players, which already includes defenseman Chris Tanev and center John Tavares. Following McCabe's departure, Troy Stecher logged a team-high 26:25 of ice time, while call-up Marshall Rifai scored his first career NHL goal against goaltender Cam Talbot to help secure Toronto's second consecutive win.
