NHL Trade Talk Recap: Red Wings, Maple Leafs, Flames & Canadiens

The latest NHL trade talk recap highlights developments involving the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, and Montreal Canadiens. Simon Edvinsson has returned to North America from Sweden to train, though he must sign with an NHL club by December 1 to play this season. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have engaged in exploratory trade talks regarding Calgary Flames defenseman Zach Whitecloud, especially in light of an injury to Chris Tanev.

In Montreal, the Canadiens continue seeking a second-line center and reportedly hold Detroit captain Dylan Larkin atop their target list. Larkin's positive reaction to Bell Centre fans chanting his name sparked speculation about him waiving his no-trade clause. However, any deal for Larkin faces hurdles because Detroit interim GM Shawn Horcoff may resist moving him to an Atlantic Division rival.
