It sure didn’t last long with his new team for the former Toronto defenseman.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Emil Andrae on waivers just weeks after acquiring him from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Andrae was included alongside Matthew Knies and Steven Lorentz in the blockbuster trade that sent forward Kirill Marchenko to Toronto. The writer argues this waiver move tilts the trade even further in the Maple Leafs' favor.
Andrae appeared in only five games for Columbus this season, recording two assists while averaging just over ten minutes of ice time. Writer Edward Eng notes that Marchenko produced at a point-per-game pace for Toronto before suffering a lower-body injury, whereas Knies has struggled following a strong start in Columbus.
