Canucks’ Chytil will not return after exiting first period vs. Oilers

Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil exited a preseason game against the Edmonton Oilers late in the first period following a collision with a referee. The collision sent Chytil into the boards shoulder-first, after which he briefly visited the bench before heading to the locker room. The team later ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

Following the game, head coach Manny Malhotra stated that Chytil will have his shoulder evaluated the next day. The Czech forward has dealt with various injuries during his NHL career, including multiple stints on the sidelines since joining Vancouver.
