The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Filip Chytil on injured reserve on Friday ahead of their matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Chytil was injured following a hard hit by San Jose Sharks defenseman Darnell Nurse during Vancouver's 3-2 loss on Thursday. The 27-year-old forward has posted two assists across seven games played this season.
In a corresponding roster move, Vancouver recalled 24-year-old center Jacob Quillan from the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks. Quillan, who was acquired from Toronto on October 15 in exchange for Aatu Raty, has recorded five goals and two assists in five AHL appearances this season.
