A former Vancouver Canucks forward has been placed on waivers during the early stages of the 2026-27 season.

Former Vancouver Canucks forward Danton Heinen has been placed on waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The move gives other NHL teams the opportunity to place a claim on the veteran forward, who has recorded zero points and a minus-2 rating through 10 games with Columbus in the 2026-27 season.
Heinen previously joined the Canucks on a two-year, $4.5 million free agent contract in 2024 following a 36-point campaign with the Boston Bruins. After managing just six goals and 18 points across 51 games for Vancouver, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in January 2025 as part of a multi-player package.
