OHL Trade Unites Canucks Prospects Medvedev And Novotný

Vancouver Canucks goaltending prospect Aleksei Medvedev has been traded from the London Knights to the Peterborough Petes in the OHL. The move unites Medvedev with fellow Canucks prospect Adam Novotný, who has played with Peterborough since the 2025–26 campaign. In exchange for Medvedev, the Petes traded three future draft selections, consisting of a 2028 second-round pick, a 2027 third-round pick, and a 2030 fifth-round pick.

Medvedev was selected 47th overall by Vancouver in the 2025 NHL Draft, while Novotný was drafted 24th overall in 2026. Novotný currently leads the Petes in scoring with 22 points across 16 games during the 2026–27 season. Despite Novotný's offensive output, Peterborough holds an 8-10 record and sits last in the OHL's East Division.
