The Vegas Golden Knights rallied from a two-goal deficit before falling 3-2 in a shootout against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. James Hagens and Morgan Geekie gave Boston an early 2-0 lead, but Mark Stone scored on a power play and rookie Trevor Connelly delivered the third-period equalizer. David Pastrnak scored the lone shootout goal to secure the victory for the Bruins.
Vegas goaltender Carter Hart recorded 25 saves, while Boston netminder Jeremy Swayman stopped 21 shots and turned away all three shootout attempts. The performance halted Boston's streak of scoring at least five goals in five consecutive home games. Mitch Marner recorded two assists for Vegas, which improved to 9-5-2 while Boston moved to 11-4-1 on the season.
