The Washington Capitals have activated starting goaltender Logan Thompson from injured reserve and reassigned netminder Mitch Gibson to the AHL's Hershey Bears. Thompson returns after being sidelined with a lower-body injury suffered during an October 20 game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Thompson holds a 4-3-0 record with a .901 save percentage across seven starts this season. Meanwhile, Gibson returns to Hershey without making his NHL debut after appearing in two AHL games this season.
