ARLINGTON, V.A. — Looking back at Sunday's loss to the Seattle Kraken and some of the early growing pains for this Washington Capitals team, a handful of the mistakes they're making stem from good intentions.

The Washington Capitals are focusing on improving puck management and decision-making following early-season struggles, including a recent loss to the Seattle Kraken. Head coach Spencer Carbery and forward Dylan Strome noted that players are overthinking and forcing plays out of a desire to help the team, leading to costly turnovers and defensive breakdowns.
Carbery emphasized the importance of playing intelligent hockey and eliminating high-risk choices under pressure. Players such as Strome and Boone Jenner stated that simplifying their 200-foot game, managing the puck effectively, and adjusting to new roster additions will help correct their early growing pains.
