Capitals Lose Clay Stevenson To Jets On Waivers

The Winnipeg Jets claimed goaltending prospect Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals on Monday. Stevenson was the sole player claimed on waivers league-wide, while fellow Capitals Jonny Brodzinski, Spencer Smallman, and Louie Belpedio cleared waivers to report to the AHL's Hershey Bears.

Washington initially signed Stevenson as an undrafted free agent out of Dartmouth University. The Capitals opted to waive Stevenson because they chose to retain Charlie Lindgren alongside Logan Thompson in goal, leaving no roster room to carry a third goaltender.
