Elliotte Friedman shares what he's hearing about Carolina's pursuit of the Jets goaltender, with Buffalo and Utah still believed to be in the mix.

Elliotte Friedman reported on Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts that the Carolina Hurricanes have submitted a revised trade offer to the Winnipeg Jets for goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. According to co-host Kyle Bukauskas, unsigned restricted free agent defenceman Alexander Nikishin is no longer part of Carolina's proposed package. Friedman suggested that if the new package had fully satisfied the Jets, a deal would likely already be finalized.
Friedman also noted that the Buffalo Sabres and Utah remain potential destinations for a permanent trade involving Hellebuyck. He observed that while other teams may hope Winnipeg feels pressured into a transaction, Carolina's front office typically moves decisively once committed to executing a deal.
