If there is one position that highlights the growth of the women's game in England, it is the competition for the half-back spot at the Rugby League World Cup.

England Women head coach Stuart Barrow faces a selection headache at half-back for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, with Jenna Foubister, Izzy Rowe, and Georgia Roche all competing for spots. For the tournament opener against Wales on October 17, Barrow has chosen to start Rowe alongside NRLW standout Roche, placing reigning Woman of Steel Foubister on the bench.
Barrow noted that narrowing the initial 40-player squad down to 23 was an extremely difficult task that reflects the growing depth in women's rugby league. Following their clash against Wales, England will continue their pool-stage campaign with matches against Australia and Samoa as they pursue a semi-final berth.
