Warrington Wolves confirmed head coach Sam Burgess has signed a contract extension keeping him with the club through the end of the 2028 Super League season. The announcement prompted a review of head coaching contract lengths across the competition heading into 2027, with Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet holding the longest deal through 2030.
Several coaches hold agreements through 2029, including newly appointed St Helens boss Kevin Walters, Castleford Tigers coach Paul Rowley, Hull KR's Nathan Cayless, Hull FC's Steve McNamara, and Wakefield Trinity's Daryl Powell. Meanwhile, Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam and York Knights boss Mark Applegarth are entering the final years of their respective contracts set to expire in 2027.
