Former NRL player Trent Merrin has been charged following an investigation into an alleged backyard peptide lab. Merrin, 37, was arrested at Surry Hills Police Station and faces five counts of manufacturing goods for use in humans resulting in harm or injury, alongside one count of participating in a criminal group.
The charges follow a joint operation by NSW Police and the Therapeutic Goods Administration, known as Strike Force Antree. Authorities uncovered a clandestine manufacturing facility during a July raid in Shell Cove, and Merrin is scheduled to appear in Wollongong Local Court on November 24.
