Championship club Swinton Lions have snapped up youngster Layton Jupp following his departure from Super League outfit Leigh Leopards.

Championship club Swinton Lions have confirmed the permanent signing of forward Layton Jupp ahead of the 2027 season. The teenager joins on a one-year deal following his departure from Super League side Leigh Leopards. Jupp, who was named Leigh's Academy Player of the Year in 2025, previously made his professional debut while on loan with Widnes Vikings in August.
Swinton head coach Anthony Murray praised Jupp as a physical forward with a strong work ethic who will bolster their pack. The signing comes alongside several other additions and retentions at Swinton as Murray rebuilds the squad following a 17th-place Championship finish in 2026.
