There was a time last year when Victor Radley had accepted that he was about to be sacked by the Roosters.
Sydney Roosters forward Victor Radley has revealed he believed he was entirely sacked following a drug scandal last year. After police uncovered text messages where he asked Brandon Smith to help him acquire cocaine, Radley feared the club's strict substance policy would end his career before he ultimately received a 10-match ban and a $30,000 fine instead.
Speaking after the Roosters defeated the Newcastle Knights 19-18 in the NRL Grand Final, Radley admitted his biggest fear had been missing out on winning another premiership with the club. He credited chairman Nick Politis and coach Trent Robinson for standing by him, and he will now turn his attention to playing for England in the World Cup.
