Hudson Young on what he thought about Port Moresby – and working with Ricky Stuart again.
Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young has addressed his future after visiting Port Moresby to discuss a lucrative move to the PNG Chiefs. Young stated that joining the expansion club would offer tax-free financial security to clear his mortgage and support his family, while denying any bad blood with Canberra. The NRL confirmed his market value at $1 million per season.
Young plans to play out the final year of his Canberra deal in 2027 if coach Ricky Stuart wants him. The Raiders previously withdrew a four-year, $4.4 million contract offer following disputes over contract clauses. Young is currently recovering from a torn Achilles and expects to resume running before Christmas.
