The longest-running transfer drama is not done just yet, it would seem…

Tyrell Sloan's pending transfer to Castleford Tigers remains uncertain, with reports indicating a stay at St George Illawarra Dragons is still possible. The 24-year-old versatile back signed a two-year contract with Castleford back in July for the 2027 Super League season. However, speculation over the move arose following the August departure of head coach Ryan Carr, who had previously worked with Sloan at the Dragons.
Discussions are reportedly ongoing between Sloan and St George regarding a potential u-turn, even as Castleford unveiled Paul Rowley as their new head coach. To retain Sloan, the NRL side would need to create salary cap room and reach a financial agreement with Castleford to release him from his signed deal.
