North Queensland announced his departure last month, with his future for 2027 up in the air.

North Queensland Cowboys prop Wiremu Greig will join the Leeds Rhinos for the 2027 Super League season. The English club confirmed Greig's arrival on Friday, with the 26-year-old signing a permanent two-year deal that includes a player option for the final year. The contract is reportedly worth around $350,000 per season, offering Greig regular playing time after managing just three appearances during his stint in Townsville.
The transfer reunites Greig with Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur, who previously coached him at the Parramatta Eels. Sporting Director Ian Blease confirmed the forward's signing to bolster their pack, while also announcing that former Cowboys prop Matt Lodge will depart Leeds to return to Australia for family reasons after making five appearances.
