Exclusive: It’s getting close now.

Super League is reportedly nearing a 12-month broadcast agreement with DAZN to televise four games per round in 2027, complementing a deal with Sky Sports. The agreement comes as part of ongoing negotiations between Super League and the NRL regarding an alignment of the two competitions, which is now expected to launch in 2028. Nigel Wood and Rhodri Jones recently traveled to Australia to resolve governance and administrative matters.
A key pending decision involves whether London Broncos will enter Super League in 2027 or wait until 2028. Meetings between Rugby League Commercial and the club are scheduled for later this week to evaluate the financial implications of admission, including potentially reduced central funding. While a majority of Super League owners back the NRL alignment, some owners, including Derek Beaumont, maintain opposition.
