They are the second rival club ready to make a play for Martin.

The Cronulla Sharks have reportedly prepared an offer to sign Penrith Panthers second-rower Liam Martin as competition for his signature heats up. Penrith faces serious salary cap pressure following extensions for Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo, leaving Martin potentially seeking a permanent transfer. The Sharks reportedly view Martin as a direct replacement for Briton Nikora.
Martin is seeking around one million dollars per season and has also expressed interest in the Canberra Raiders. Although Martin hopes to stay with Penrith as his preferred option, both the Sharks and Raiders remain in contention ahead of upcoming pre-season trial fixtures.
