At least one is a certainty, but the Knights could knock two over in one go.

The 2026 NRL Grand Final between the Sydney Roosters and the Newcastle Knights offers multiple opportunities to break historic rugby league records. A victory for the Roosters would make them the first team to win an NRL premiership after conceding 50 or more points during the regular season, having lost 50-20 to South Sydney in their final round.
Conversely, a victory for the Knights would mark the first time an NRL-era team won the premiership from outside the top four. It would also make Newcastle the first club since the 1934 Western Suburbs Magpies to transition from winning the wooden spoon to claiming the title in consecutive years.
