The RFL looks set to purchase Featherstone Rovers’ stadium after a £500,000 rescue deal to return them to the field in 2027 nears completion.

The Rugby Football League is set to purchase Featherstone Rovers' Post Office Road stadium as part of an emergency rescue package. Wakefield Council plans to release £500,000 from the Rugby League Resilience Fund to the RFL to help return a new Featherstone club to the Championship in 2027.
The governing body must match the £500,000 grant to finalize the purchase of the ground and its associated assets. If approved, the RFL will lease the stadium to a new ownership consortium, with potential buyers currently in advanced discussions and a decision expected within weeks.
