Wakefield Trinity made history by winning their first-ever Super League Grand Final, defeating Warrington Wolves 23-10 at Old Trafford. Coached by Daryl Powell, Trinity claimed their first top-division title since 1968, ending a 58-year drought. First-half tries from Cam Scott, Isaiah Vagana, and Jazz Tevaga, alongside a Jack Sinfield drop goal, propelled Wakefield to a commanding 19-0 lead by halftime.
Warrington fought back with two tries from Arron Lindop, but Tom Johnstone crossed the whitewash to secure Wakefield's victory and earn the Rob Burrow Award for Man of the Match. Sam Cook argues that Johnstone likely secured an England selection over Matty Ashton. Cook also notes that Sam Burgess's Warrington side suffered a third major final defeat in three years.
