Decorated defence guru Shaun Edwards says his offer to work for England at the forthcoming World Cup was turned down by head coach Steve Borthwick.

Shaun Edwards revealed that England head coach Steve Borthwick turned down his offer to join the coaching staff for the upcoming Rugby World Cup. Edwards, who left his role with France earlier this year, offered to assist in any capacity, but Borthwick chose to keep his existing backroom team intact.
Following the rejection, Edwards agreed to work with Argentina through the end of the tournament. The decorated coach, who also completed a brief stint with England's women's team, noted he was surprised his coaching resume has not yet led to a head coach position with a Test team.
