‘He has an aura’: Why Shaun Edwards joined the Red Roses

Shaun Edwards has joined the England women's rugby team, the Red Roses, on a short-term consultancy role ahead of their match against the Black Ferns at Allianz Stadium. The 59-year-old coach recently concluded a six-year tenure with the French national team under Fabien Galthie. Red Roses head coach John Mitchell praised Edwards' immediate impact and his ability to quickly build relationships with the squad.

Edwards' decision to join the program was partly motivated by his late mother's admiration for the Red Roses. Red Roses players Marlie Packer and Jess Breach noted that Edwards shared this personal motivation with the team upon arriving in camp, winning over the squad with his commitment to improving their program.
