Graham Henry says Super Rugby’s decline has left the All Blacks vulnerable in two key areas exposed by the Springboks.

Former All Blacks coach Graham Henry stated that the decline of Super Rugby is leaving New Zealand vulnerable at the international level. Speaking to Sport Nation, Henry highlighted issues at scrum time and under the high ball following three consecutive defeats against South Africa. He noted that New Zealand players must now adapt to top-tier physical demands during Test matches rather than in domestic competition.
Henry pointed directly to the departure of South African franchises from Super Rugby as a major handicap for developing talent against physical opponents. Addressing their aerial struggles, Henry, who serves as a selector under Dave Rennie, confirmed the coaching staff has dedicated significant time toward fixing their high-ball strategies ahead of the Bledisloe Cup Tests against Australia.
