Bankrupt Lawrence Dallaglio forced to make heartbreaking choice as announcement made

Former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio is putting his 2003 Rugby World Cup winner's medal up for auction next month. The memorabilia sale comes as the 54-year-old former Wasps forward navigates ongoing financial issues following his bankruptcy declaration last year. The World Cup winner's medal is listed with an estimated value of £50,000 to £80,000 ahead of the auction scheduled for October 13.

Dallaglio is also selling several other career items, including his 2007 World Cup runner-up medal, a 2003 Six Nations winner's medal, Wasps medals, and his British & Irish Lions cap. Documents filed last year revealed significant debts, including overdrawn director's loans and hundreds of thousands of pounds owed in taxes and creditor claims.
