Springbok Women co-head coach Laurian Johannes-Haupt gave an honest assessment of her team's 40-27 loss to Ireland at Athlone Stadium.

Springbok Women co-head coach Laurian Johannes-Haupt admitted her team was outplayed following a 40-27 defeat to Ireland at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Ireland scored six tries, including two from Linda Djougang, to secure the victory in their WXV Global Series match. Johannes-Haupt noted that unforced errors, defensive lapses, and a lack of clinical execution prevented South Africa from capitalizing on several scoring opportunities.
Despite scoring five tries of their own, the Springbok Women faced disappointment after earlier losses to the Black Ferns and Wales. South Africa will have an immediate opportunity to respond when they conclude the two-match series against Ireland at the same venue next Saturday.
