Qatar will not host the 2028 Nations Championship finals due to regional instability caused by the war in the Middle East. Both parties mutually agreed to cancel a package deal covering the 2028 and 2032 finals alongside a four-edition title sponsorship with Qatar Airways. The hosting rights and title sponsorship package was reportedly valued at roughly £80m per tournament, though organisers remain confident that replacement partners can be secured.
Organisers plan to issue a new tender process early next year, with Paris's Stade de France currently considered the most likely replacement venue for 2028. The United States remains pencilled in to host the finals in 2030, while the inaugural finals weekend takes place at Twickenham's Allianz Stadium in late November.
