Canada international back-row Mason Flesch joins Newcastle Red Bulls on a deal until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Newcastle Red Bulls have signed Canada forward Mason Flesch on a contract running until the end of the season. The 26-year-old, who operates as a lock or back-row forward, has won 26 international caps for Canada. Newcastle head coach Dan McFarland stated that Flesch will bring valuable athletic depth to the squad after his arrival on Tyneside.
Flesch joins following a title-winning stint with the Chicago Hounds, where he scored 10 tries in 11 matches and was named Major League Rugby's forward of the season for 2026. His arrival comes as Newcastle aim to recover from three straight Premiership defeats and a 47-14 European Challenge Cup loss to Scarlets.
