Players were ushered from the pitch immediately after the final whistle after police were called with around half an hour of the match remaining…

Police launched an investigation after threats were made via social media during the second half of Northampton Saints' clash against Cardiff Rugby on Sunday, October 18. Northamptonshire Police officers were dispatched to Franklin's Gardens around 7 p.m. to respond to the incident, leading to heightened security measures inside the venue.
As a precaution, players and staff from both squads were quickly ushered down the tunnel immediately after the final whistle instead of interacting with fans. Northampton Saints won the Investec Champions Cup match 28-12, and Cardiff later issued an apology to traveling supporters for the abrupt post-match departure.
