After five years in Japan, Springbok legend Pieter-Steph du Toit is returning to South Africa for family reasons.

Springbok flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit is leaving Japanese club Toyota Verblitz to return to South Africa for family reasons. The two-time World Rugby Player of the Year reached a mutual agreement with Verblitz for an early contract release after five years in Japan, citing a desire to avoid traveling back and forth away from his family.
Du Toit's destination club is not yet confirmed and is expected to be announced following the Nations Championship. He follows fellow Springboks Malcolm Marx and Manie Libbok, who recently secured moves back to South Africa to join the Bulls and Sharks, respectively.
