John Plumtree has hailed Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus for being unapologetic in putting South Africa first.

John Plumtree praised Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus for his distinctive coaching style and his ability to put South Africa first. Speaking on the Coaching Culture with Ben Herring podcast, Plumtree stated that Erasmus has created an exceptional bond between the national team and its supporters, something he believes the New Zealand All Blacks currently lack.
Plumtree noted that while Erasmus can be controversial, his refusal to compromise and his emphasis on representing the nation drive exceptional performance. Having coached in New Zealand, Plumtree argued that the All Blacks could learn from the intense passion surrounding the Springboks, crediting Erasmus with building South Africa's deep talent pool.
