Bristol Bears secured a 41-26 victory over reigning champions Northampton Saints, scoring six tries in an impressive Premiership display. Director of rugby Pat Lam revealed that Bristol's heavy 94-33 defeat against Saints last season served as the main motivation for the performance.
Lam studied video footage of that May defeat five times over the summer to prepare his squad. Standout performers for Bristol in the rematch included Louis Rees-Zammit, Harry Randall, Fitz Harding, and Pedro Rubiolo.
