EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Settling into a plush sofa beside a fireplace at Pennyhill Park, Slade reminisces about his highs and lows since he first checked into England's team hotel in 2014.

In an interview at Pennyhill Park, England center Henry Slade reflected on the cultural evolution of the national team since his 2015 debut. Slade contrasted today's dressing room with the strict "speak when spoken to" atmosphere enforced by former senior teammates, joking that young prospect Henry Pollock may not have survived the environment a decade ago.
The 77-cap Exeter center also detailed the challenges of managing type 1 diabetes throughout his professional career, including a severe low blood sugar incident during the 2015 World Cup. After bouncing back from his omission from the 2023 World Cup squad, Slade is now aiming to participate in a third tournament.
