England head coach John Mitchell warned that having too many overseas players in Premiership Women's Rugby could jeopardize future national team success. His comments followed England's 31-22 loss to Canada in Ottawa during the WXV Series, which resulted in England suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time in a decade.
Canada captain Sophie de Goede scored a hat-trick as Canada scored five tries to secure a 2-0 series sweep. The victory came after Canada's 24-21 win in Toronto the previous weekend, which had ended England's 41-match unbeaten streak.
