The Springbok Women have made a plenty of changed to their squad as they look to recover from being "stung" by Wales in their WXV Global Series 2026 opener.

The Springbok Women have made numerous changes to their squad ahead of their WXV Global Series 2026 match against Italy in Pordenone. Following a heavy defeat to Wales in Cardiff, co-head coach Franzel September has rotated the squad, dropping captain Babalwa Latsha to the bench. Unam Tose and Sizo Solontsi will share the captaincy, while Nombuyekezo Mdliki starts at tighthead.
Italy head coach Plinio Sciamanna has also adjusted his lineup following a 55-21 victory over Japan. Former captain Elisa Giordano returns to the starting team, forcing Francesca Sgorbini to blindside flanker. Additionally, Emma Stevanin starts at fly-half, and Mascia Jelic is positioned to make her debut from the bench.
