Novak Djokovic has officially accepted a wild card to compete in the Swiss Indoors in Basel, marking his first appearance at the tournament since 2011. Tournament organizers released a statement welcoming back the 24-time Grand Slam champion, who previously won the title in 2009 by defeating Roger Federer.
The Serbian star entered the ATP 500 event to boost his ranking points in an effort to qualify for the year-end ATP Finals in Turin. Djokovic currently sits 11th in the Race to Turin, trailing contenders Rafael Jodar and Alex de Minaur as he targets a spot in the season-ending championship.
