A ball boy collapsed and was carried off on a stretcher during Daniil Medvedev's Erste Bank Open quarterfinal against Adrian Mannarino in Vienna. Chair umpire Manuel Messina halted play early in the first set, stepping down alongside both players to assist tournament medical staff. The ball boy reportedly recovered well, and play resumed following a five-minute delay.
Medvedev went on to defeat Mannarino 6-2, 6-3 to reach the tournament semifinals. The victory secured the Russian third seed a qualifying spot at the upcoming Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, setting up a semifinal clash against Carlos Alcaraz.
