Daniil Medvedev left stunned after asking Novak Djokovic ‘what are you talking about?’

Daniil Medvedev admitted he was surprised by the fast court speed on Shanghai Masters' Stadium court, confirming Novak Djokovic's earlier observations. Medvedev had initially doubted Djokovic's comments about the fast conditions after playing his opening matches on the Grandstand court. However, upon warming up on Stadium court for his fourth-round match, he immediately realized how quick the surface was playing.

Despite the jarring change, Medvedev adapted to defeat rival Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-5, advancing to his fourth quarter-final at the tournament. Official court pace index metrics revealed Stadium at 43 and Grandstand at 42.7, showing small margins that felt significantly different to the players.
